July 1st of every year begins the new government year. In honor of that day, Robin B. Tucker has begun to collect signatures for State of Iowa, Nomination Petition for City Offices for Cedar Rapids Ward 2. Actually, the Cedar Rapids Home Rule Charter calls the ward system Districts, but you hopefully get the idea.
Robin B. Tucker was born in Cedar Rapids and has spent the majority of his life residing in District 2. The process of examining and becoming a Candidate for Cedar Rapids District 2 begins today, through gathering signatures from residents of District 2, who are of voting age.On November 6, 2007, the Citizens of Cedar Rapids will vote for one at-large candidate for Cedar Rapids City Council. Citizens of District 2 and District 4, respectively, will vote for their District Council Member for the Cedar Rapids City Council. The City of Cedar Rapids adopted the City Manager Form of Government in 2005.
Robin B. Tucker was a member of the 15 member Home Rule Charter Commission in 2005 that created a City Manager Form of Government for Cedar Rapids. The Citizens of Cedar Rapids adopted the new form of Government in June 2005 and the first elections were held in November 2005, with runoffs where applicable, in December 2005.Robin B. Tucker is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Iowa, Vice President of one second generation company, Tommy Tucker Realty Co./Professional Management Associates Co. and a third generation company, Tucker Manufacturing Co., Inc. Both companies were founded in Cedar Rapids, with Tucker Realty in 1958 and Tucker Manufacturing in 1945. Tucker Manufacturing builds and sells window and building maintenance equipment.
Robin B. Tucker is a graduate of the Cedar Rapids Community Schools and a graduate of Creighton University, with a BSBA in Accounting. He is married and has three children. Robin is celebrating his 20th wedding anniversary to his wife, Carole, this year. At the end of the year, Robin will be celebrating his 20th year back in Cedar Rapids from Nebraska and his 20th year in the two businesses.
Robin is the son of Irvin Lee (Tommy) Tucker and LaVerne Tucker. Robin has a sister in Tucson, Arizona and a brother in Coralville, Iowa.
