In the Second Congressional District of Iowa, Dr. Mariannetee Miller-Meeks will face three men from Linn County in the June primary in 2010. Dr. Miller-Meeks will be in Fairfield for the 2Nd Congressional District Convention.

2nd DISTRICT: Mariannette Miller-Meeks of Ottumwa, the 2008 Republican
nominee for this congressional seat, became the new frontrunner in fundraising
this quarter. Her $71,438 topped the $41,729 raised by Steve Rathje of Marion,
who was the leader last quarter.

Miller-Meeks also topped Rob Gettemy of Marion's fundraising of $28,824,
but she had less cash at the end of the reporting period because of a $100,000
personal loan that Gettemy made to his own campaign. Gettemy had $120,815 at the end of March, while Miller-Meeks had $72,702 and Rathje had $55,586.
